How we source and verify what's on MuayThang
MuayThang is a directory, not a magazine. What we publish comes from a mix of public sources, gym-submitted data, and our own checks. This page explains where each part comes from and what we do when something's wrong.
Gym listings
- Base data(name, address, coordinates, phone, rating) comes from Google Places. We run an automated match on the gym's name and location, then re-check it periodically. When a match looks wrong we pull the listing rather than show an unverified guess.
- Schedule and pricingis pulled from the gym's own website or Google Business listing where available, labeled with the month we last checked it. It can go stale between visits, always confirm on the gym's own site before you travel.
- Claiming a gym. Owners and staff can claim a listing to correct it directly, add photos, and list programs. Claimed data overrides our automated sourcing.
- Thin listings(name and location only, nothing else verified) are marked as such and kept out of search indexing until they're enriched or claimed, so we're not asking Google, or you, to trust a page we can't stand behind yet.
Gear guides
- Product specs and comparisons are drawn from brand-published materials and the wider record of what Thai gyms actually use, not a personal test lab. We say so plainly rather than imply hands-on testing we haven't done.
- We link to the brand's own store first where one exists, and to Amazon otherwise. Some links are affiliate links, see the disclosure on every gear page. Affiliate relationships never decide which product gets recommended.
- Product photography mixes official brand photos with AI-composited scene shots. Official photos carry the accuracy; AI images are ambient/contextual only, never used to depict product details that aren't in the real photo.
Corrections
Found something wrong: a closed gym, a bad price, a mismatched listing, a gear recommendation you disagree with? Email goncalo.don@scoreplay.xyz and we'll fix or remove it. See also About for what MuayThang is and isn't.
